How do I add my animal to petsXL?

This is how you can add your animals to petsXL:

1. Select in the menu > Animals.
2. Select Add animal.
3. Select whether it is an individual Animal or a Stock.
4. Enter Name, Call Name, Species, Breed, Type of breed, Date of birth, Sex, Coat, Colour, Chip number, Studbook number and EU pet passport.
5. Select Food animal if necessary.
6. Finally, select Save.

How do I edit the animal data in petsXL?

This is how you can edit the Animal data, such as the date of birth:

1. Select the animal you want to edit under the heart symbol Animals.
2. Select the three dots top right .
3. Select then Animal data.
4. Go to the Animal details and select the pen symbol .
5. If necessary, edit the entries for Name, Call Name, Species, Breed, Type of breed, Date of birth, Sex, Coat, Colour, Chip number, Studbook number and EU pet passport.
6. Select Food animal if necessary.
7. Finally, select Save.

If you accidentally created an animal as a stock, you need to add your animal again, as this setting cannot be changed. Also hide the animal that you created as a stock.

Why do I see my pet twice in petsXL?

If you have already created an animal and subsequently link to your veterinary practice, it is possible that your animal is listed twice in petsXL. Simply merge animals that are listed more than once.

How can I merge duplicate animals ?

You can merge animals of the same Species:

1. Go to the heart symbol Animals and select the animal you want to merge with another.
2. Select the three dots top right .
3. Selct then Merge animal data.
4. Under Merge with, select the animals that you would like to merge with the selected animal ans select Continue. The respective profile entries for Profile picture, Background image, Name, Call Name, Breed, Chip number, Date of birth, Gender, Colour and EU pet passport will then appear.
5. Select the information you wish to save.
6. Select Merge to merge the profiles of the animals.

Merging cannot be undone.

Why does merging animals not work?

You can only merge animals with animals and herds with herds. To ensure that merging works smoothly, the Species must also match. Therefore, check this field again in both animal profiles.

How can I upload a profile picture for my animals?

You can save both a profile picture and a background picture in the animal profile:

1. Select the heart symbol Animals to display your animals.
2. In the desired animal profile, select the three dots top right .
3. Select then Change profile picture or Change background image.
4. Select a photo.
5. Edit the position of the image section if necessary.
6. Finally, select Save.

If your own photos are not displayed, check your mobile phone settings to see whether petsXL has access to your photos.

My pet's breed is not in the selection list. What can I do?

If you can't find your pet's breed, simply enter it manually in the input field and select Save. In this case, you can ignore the yellow message. The next time you interact with your veterinary practice via petsXL, they will automatically receive the updated data.

How do I enter stays abroad for my pet?

1. In the desired animal profile, select top right .
2. Select Animal data.
3. Go to Stays abroad and select the pen symbol .
4. Select Add stay abroad.
5. Select a Country, enter the date of Arrival and Departure, the Region/City and associated Notes if necessary.
6. Confirm with Apply.
7. Finally, select Save.

How do I enter notes about my pet?

1. In the desired animal profile, select the three dots top right .
2. Select Animal data.
3. Go to Notes and select the pen symbol .
4. Select Add note.
5. Enter your notes about your pet, for example the date of your bitch's last heat.
6. Confirm with Apply.
7. Finally, select Save.

How can I mark my pet as deceased?

We are so sorry for the loss of your beloved companion! In petsXL you can do this as follows:

1. Select the animal you want to edit under the heart symbol Animals.
2. Select the three dots top right .
3. Select Animal data.
4. Go to the Animal details and select the pen symbol .
5. Select Deceased.
6. Finally, select Save.

Deceased animals are also displayed under the heart symbol Animals.

How can I hide my pet?

1. Select the heart symbol to go to your animals.
2. Select the desired animal.
3. Select the three dots top right and then Hide animal.
4. Confirm with Hide.

For a hidden animal, a corresponding notice is displayed in the animal profile.

You can make your hidden animals visible again at any time at the heart symbol Animals via the controller .

How can I delete my pet?

You cannot delete animals in petsXL. However, you can hide an animal so that it is no longer displayed.
