Why should I connect to my veterinary practice via petsXL?
To be able to use petsXL to its full extent, you need to connect digitally with your veterinary practice. Only then you can for example book appointments online, make cashless payments or have your pets' treatment details to hand.
To get started with petsXL, either ask your veterinary practice to invite you or request a connection via petsXL.
How do I get invited by my veterinary practice?
Your veterinary practice can invite you:
- Ask your veterinary practice to invite you to petsXL. You will then receive the invitation by email. This is valid for 48 hours.
- Accept the invitation via the link.
- Assign a password for petsXL.
- If necessary, you can use the pen symbol
to adjust your details and add any missing information.
- Confirm with Save.
- Agree to the terms of use and privacy policy and you're connected.
All data that your veterinary practice has stored about you and your pets will be transferred to your petsXL account when you accept the invitation. You can find it in the menu at
Account or the heart symbol
for your animals. This saves you having to enter them manually.
If your veterinary practice does not yet use petsXL, simply let them know the next time you visit so that you can connect via petsXL.
What should I do if the link in the invitation email has expired?
If the link has expired, contact your veterinary practice and ask them to send you another invitation email. This will again be valid for 48 hours.
How can I make a connection request to a veterinary practice?
This is how you make a request to a veterinary practice:
- Select in the
menu
Vets.
- Select Connect with veterinary practice.
- Search for the desired veterinary practice in the radius search on the map and select it.
- Select one or more animals that you would like to connect to the veterinary practice.
- Then select Continue.
- Complete your details if necessary. The mandatory fields will be highlighted.
- Then select Continue.
- If required, select whether you are a new customer or an existing customer. You can also select the reason why you would like to contact the veterinary practice.
- Select Continue.
- Select then Request connection.
The veterinary practice now has seven days to confirm your enquiry. You will receive a message in your timeline as soon as the veterinary practice accepts the request. If the practice has stored health plans or vaccination schedules for your pet, these will be automatically transferred to petsXL.
To delete a connection request, select the recycle bin icon
and confirm the query with Yes, stop request.
You can also make connection requests directly as part of an appointment or a Comfort check-in.
How can I add a veterinary practice?
You can also add veterinary practices without connecting to them:
- Select in the
menu
Vets.
- Select Add veterinary practice.
- Search for the desired veterinary practice in the radius search on the map and select it.
- Select Continue.
- Select then Add veterinary practice.
How do I find out if my veterinary practice uses petsXL ?
- Simply ask the next time you visit the practice whether they use petsXL.
If they do, ask them to invite you to petsXL. - If you already have a petsXL account, you can simply search for them in petsXL:

- Select Connect with veterinary practice.
- View the veterinary practices in the desired location that use petsXL and accept connection requests.

Can I be invited by another veterinary practice?
You can connect with any veterinary practice that uses petsXL - even several at the same time.
